The Team

Our Finance Team aims to be a true business partner, sitting in the heart of the business, and providing business support and technical expertise to safeguard the company’s financial assets, aid decision making, and support future growth. 

We achieve this through two primary functions.  The Central Finance function provides business support to the Board in the form of financial reporting and commentary, financial projections, and technical advice.  With the primary focus on financial accounting, its purpose is to safeguard Itad’s financial assets, and ensure statutory, tax, and filing compliance, maintain a robust internal control environment, promote best practice throughout the organisation, and provide technical expertise to internal customers.

The Finance Business Partnering function provides business support to the Practices to analyse, explain and predict Revenue and Gross Profit performance, to aid commercial decisions. Finance also contributes to the fulfilment of financial reporting contractual obligations to the customers.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable Senior Practice Management Accountant to assist the Financial Controller in preparing and analysing monthly accounts and forecasts, to enable senior management in making critical business decisions. You will be responsible for overseeing the production of monthly accounts and providing assistance where needed, you will also assist the Financial Controller with preparing forecasts, budgets and ad hoc analysis as needed.  You will be responsible for the financial management of one of our large foundation projects.

As a Senior Practice Management Accountant you will oversee month end processes, ensuring data accuracy, production and management of WIP and portfolio analysis. Monthly activity will include populating Exco and Board reports,  partnering with our project management unit to produce billing forecasts, also producing dashboards to present data to Practice Leaders/Customer Account Leads regarding their practices performance.

The position will deliver the creation of schedules and liaison with Auditors for the annual audit, and assist in the annual budgeting process under the direction of the Financial Controller.  As well as assistance in the quarterly forecasting process, population of models and data analysis, management of year end processes and rolling forward of reports.

The role is responsible for the financial management and analysis of a large foundation project, reporting to the client and liaison with the project team. This includes the involvement in systems implementation, we are due to implement Microsoft business centrals Q1 2022.

In addition you will assist the Financial Controller in the management of processes within the finance team, prepare ad hoc analysis as needed, support on project accounting related queries, providing support to the practices and the project management unit as needed. The position will also manage and develop one team member.

The Candidate

You will have relevant experience within a similar role, ideally with experience of projects. You are comfortable working with accountancy software, preferably Navision. With a keen eye for accuracy.

As a relationship investor you will use your good communication skills to liaise with the rest of the organisation in order to get all documentation processed in a timely manner. 

Other key skills that you have include the ability to multi task, prioritise your workload and work within tight deadlines. You will be proactive and have a positive attitude to work, actively learning in a fast-paced environment and demonstrating your ability to be a team player.

The salary for this role is from £35 - £40K depending on your skills and experience.

The position is for a period of 9 months to support us while we complete our project. This duration may be extended or there may be other opportunity as the team develops. 

The role is based in our offices in Brighton & Hove (East Sussex) and as lockdown eases, we would anticipate this is where you will spend at least 2 days a week working alongside the rest of the finance team. Successful candidates will already have the right to live and work in the UK.
